Family Trip To Seattle
February 20, 2013 § Leave a Comment

Last weekend we had family visiting from Hong Kong so we decided to make a little trip to across the border. It’s very rare for my family to have the time to go on trips together so our drive down to Seattle was kind of a huge deal. We spent our first day shopping our minds out at the Premium Outlets -I remember I used to hate shopping there as a child but it’s been a long time since I’ve visited the Premium Outlets and let me tell you, my mother and I had the time of our lives. We spent the second day roaming Downtown Seattle. I had such a full belly after this trip.
Sunny Saturday: Good Friends and Good Food

Last week was mental and I went a little MIA, to the point where Janice had to tell me I hadn’t posted in a while. Midterms and assignments were all crammed into the week before reading break so we were all frantically rushing to finish. Saturday came as a celebratory day; we began the morning with brunch at Red Wagon, dinner at Eight 1/2 on Main and decided to go to the Biltmore for some dancing – we eventually bailed and went for bubble tea at Dragon Ball. A good way to start the break.
Fancy Photo Shoot

Two weeks ago a good friend of mine asked me to model for her photography project; without much thought I said yes! Other than the odd graduation photos or family portrait I’ve never had a photo shoot of any sort. One of my goals this year was to learn more about photography and I thought it would be fun to pose whilst learning about lighting and positioning. It was SO much fun and I really did learn a lot but to be a little honest, we took so many photos I’m a little sick of seeing my own face.
P.S Isn’t my grey sweater amazing? I love it, I got it from Kalos check it out!! they also do the best blog ever: Treasures&Travels
Saturday Morning DimSum

It’s already February, can you believe it?? Chinese New Year is fast approaching so all our relatives and family friends from across the pond are going on holiday and what does a Chinese family do when we have family visiting? (or not) we go for DimSum. Saturday was the first Saturday in a couple of weeks that my mum didn’t have to work and seeing as how we had family and friends visiting from Hong Kong/ China we decided to head out to Richmond for some delicious DimSum. I used to hate going as a child but perhaps as I got older, I acquired a taste for yummy Chinese delicacies and dishes.
Sugar Rush At Chocolate Arts

Last night I had the pleasure of attending a chocolate reception at the ever so delicious Chocolate Arts. I have a major sweet tooth so I essentially died and went to chocolate heaven. Janice and I made our rounds trying chocolate, testing some chocolate shots and even making our own chocolate! Everything was delicately and intricately made so be sure to check it out if you’re in the area.
Perhaps another thing to note is that Janice and I wore almost the exact same outfit! What can I say? Great minds think AND dress alike.
All Dogs Go To Heaven

It’s a been rough week for my family, particularly my father. Last Thursday we had to say goodbye to our beloved pup. He’s been with us for 12 years and he’s been the best and most loyal heart in the family. It’s such a haunting feeling waking up every morning and discovering that he isn’t there; sometimes I feel like I’m going crazy because I think I hear his footsteps yet I have to remind myself that it’s not him. The worst thing is seeing my father in such distress, I don’t think I’ve ever seen my father weep so much in my life and it’s heartbreaking. But this verse from Matthew has been in my mind lately and I just wanted to share it with those who have been going through tough times. I’m so blessed to have had such a wonderful pup in my life, he’s literally been with and stood by me through every step over the past 12 years.
